A Brief History

In 1998 Liz met Dick and Christine Reed of Toskhara Arabians. They were living in Leicestershire and 'It was love at first sight', when Liz saw a young chestnut mare being led across the yard. This lovely mare was 'TA Mirabelle', and within hours Liz had bought her. A childhood dream come true Liz had a horse to ride. This plan did not last long and soon our lives would change forever.

A solid friendship formed between our two families. In 1999 we accompanied Dick and Christine to the 'Pride of Poland' horse show and auction. We were beginning to learn about these beautiful horses. Dick and Christine bought themselves a stallion 'Kordelas (PL)'. They suggested that we covered 'TA Mirabelle' with 'Kordelas (PL)' and we could possibly have a good foal. What an offer and in 2000 'TA Mirabelle' was checked in foal to 'Kordelas (PL)'. This was when we formed Valentine Arabians. Liz chose the name in honour of her late father Sebastian Valentine van Renen. With 'TA Mirabelle' in foal, Liz had no horse to ride, so we bought her full sister 'TA Minuette'. 'TA Mirabelle' produced her first foal 'VA Mia Valentina'.

Now owning three horses, we sold our home and bought a small farm in Lincolnshire. 2002 saw 'TA Mirabelle' once again covered by 'Kordelas (PL)', 'TA Minuette' was covered by 'TA Etikett' and once again Liz had no horse to ride, so we bought a gelding 'TA Bey Cotton'. Dick and Christine then moved back to Texas. We acquired 'TA Caapria', and gave 'Ferzon's Lace' a retirement home. We continued with our breeding program still using 'Kordelas (PL)'. Dick and Christine loaned us a mare 'Etrea (PL)' who they covered with 'Expo (PL)' and the result, a filly 'VA Etelka', giving us a different mare line.

With Toskhara Arabians now in Texas, we sought out different stallions and have to date had success using 'Pilot (PL)' and ‘Ferryt (PL)’, owned by Halsdon Arabians.

2010 and following great advice we have used 'AJA Justified' from AJA Arabians.

Our thanks to everyone who changed our lives and we look forward to the future breeding and showing our beautiful Arabian Horses.
